Marcel Dettmann is releasing a double-vinyl, eight track compilation on his self-styled label.
Marcel Dettmann Records will release its first compilation in March with an international tour to follow.
The simply-titled MDR Compilation is the imprint's first full-length release, but it follows a similar two-part EP from last year that focused on tracks from Dettmannfabric mix CD. The label says that the collection signals "the next phase of his artistic mission as he evolves from a successful solo act to assume the mantel of mentor and advocate for a new community of likeminded artists."
Among the likeminded producers featured on the compilation are Kobosil, Answer Code Request, Anthony Parasole and Milton Bradley, along with Dettmann's fellow Berghain veteran Norman Nodge and a track from the boss man himself. It'll be released digitally and on double-vinyl, and the vinyl comes with a download code for a mix of the MDR catalogue by Kobosil (you'll also be able to grab that mix for free via the MDR website).
To celebrate MDR Compilation, Dettmann and friends will hit the road around Europe and the US in March, spanning dates in Munich, London, Paris, Rome, Italy, New York and Hamburg, before finishing off with a big shindig at Berghain on the 28th.
