  • LA institution Mount Analog has announced two days of shows beginning March 20th at Jewel's Catch One and ending the following evening at the Hollywood Forever Cemetery. The record store, promotions company and distributor has carved out a dark, experimental niche since opening a few years ago. On the 20th, they'll throw the 11th installment of their Nuit Noire series at mid-city club Jewel's. CLR industrial techno producer Tommy Four Seven tops the first night's lineup. He's the only artist booked for a DJ set, with ten live acts rounding out the bill. Sonic Groove boss Adam X, Shifted, Hieroglyphic Being and LA's Drumcell will play live sets. Bleak Northern Electronics artist Varg, New York duo Further Reductions and Downwards act Oake are also scheduled to perform. The lineup also boasts several interesting collaborations. O/H is Rich Oddie from Orphyx along with Toronto artist Dave Foster—they'll be making their US debut. Pleasure Korps, the combo of Ascetic House acts Ligature and JS Aurelius, will share the stage with Encapsulate, another member of the Tempe, AZ collective. The second night, a largely beatless foil to the preceding live marathon, will take place at the Masonic Lodge at the historic Hollywood Forever Cemetery. Lustmord tops the bill with a live set and Grouper, the delicate, sometimes droney project of Liz Harris, will also play a rare live show. Shifted is back under his ambient alias, Alexander Lewis, and LA post-punkers Tropic Of Cancer and Sons Of Magdalene round out the bill.
