The influential Japanese DJ will travel the states this month.
Crue-L Records boss Kenji Takimi will tour this US beginning February 13th in Portland.
Takimi started Crue-L in the early-'90s, presiding over the country's budding love affair with house, disco and balearic music. He was responsible for initial Japanese gigs from DJ Harvey and Idjut Boys, and his "anything goes" approach to digging and production has led to an enduring connection with those artists. Takimi continues to hold revered selector status at home and abroad. RA did a Playing favourites feature with the veteran jock back in 2012.
He'll begin the stateside jaunt next Friday with an extended set at the the private Limited Edition party in Portland. Following the Portland gig, he'll travel down into California where he'll play for Far Away in LA and Honey Soundsystem in San Francisco. The next weekend, he'll head to the East Coast, where he'll spin the the Magic Message party in Philly and Let's Play House in New York. He'll wrap up the trip with an appearance on Beats In Space.
Takimi pulled together a mix for the Honey Soundsystem podcast in anticipation of the tour. Check it out below.
Tickets to the Philly and New York shows are available on RA.
