  • Dave Smith Instruments rolled out the Prophet-6 at the NAMM Show this past weekend. The synthesizer takes inspiration from the Prophet-5, the famous, early polyphonic synth from Sequential Circuits. Like that synth, the six-voice Prophet-6 employs analog voltage-controlled oscillators, filters and amplifiers. It's also got the poly-mod section and unison mode that should be familiar to those who have worked with the original. This new synth is full of contemporary touches, though, from high-resolution digital effects (with a true bypass function, for those who want to keep things all-analog) to 500 permanent factory programs. We don't have a release date or price point yet, though Create Digital Music says it's likely to be priced at around $2,800. You can see Dave Smith pitching the synth in the video below.
The Prophet-6 is coming soon from Dave Smith Instruments.
