  • The Barbican will host a one-off performance from James Holden, Luke Abbott and Koreless, on Thursday, April 9th. The show, entitled Hello, Terry Riley, will celebrate the work of the American composer. Riley, who champions the use of technology in minimalist music, is a leading light in contemporary classical music. Using specially built sequencers, synthesisers and percussion, the trio will pay homage to him, presenting new collaborative compositions influenced by his work. "My performance will be a very slow tour of some landmarks in a fractal," says Holden, "a slow tilt of the head to inspect the arpeggio from a slightly different perspective, with thanks offered up to the man who gave musicians after him permission to move so slowly." Tickets went on sale to Barbican members today (Thursday, January 22nd), followed by a general sale at 10 AM on Friday, January 23rd. Head here for more information.
