  • Arto Lindsay will perform live alongside members of the L.I.E.S collective in Ridgewood, Queens this Saturday, January 10th. Lindsay is perhaps best known as the bandleader of DNA, who contributed heavily to the no wave movement that emerged out of the Downtown New York scene in the late '70s and early '80s. He's maintained an active solo career since, steadily releasing new material while collaborating with artists like Vito Acconci, Laurie Anderson, Animal Collective and Matthew Barney. (His most recent record is a retrospective from last year called The Encyclopedia of Arto Lindsay). This weekend he'll perform with Jahiliyya Fields, Gut Nose and Victoria Keddie at Trans Pecos, a venue that has become an essential space for leftfield electronics as well as experimental rock and noise music in New York since it opened in early 2014. The gig is presented by L.I.E.S and local promoter AdHoc.
