  • Prototype, a new party at downtown LA venue Lot 613, will launch this Friday with a CLR showcase headlined by Chris Liebing. The large space is situated in the Arts District, a warehouse-heavy zone that often plays host to LA's roving underground scene. (Lot 613 is a licensed venue.) For the first installment of Prototype, the organizers have teamed up with West Coast techno lynchpin Droid Behavior. CLR proprietor Chris Liebing will bring label act Black Asteroid along with him. The latter will play a live PA featuring Cold Cave, the synth pop act signed to Matador Records. Droid's Dean Paul will open the show. On the 23rd, Prototype will hand over the reins to Ghostly's musical shapeshifter Matthew Dear, who will debut his Subversions series on the West Coast. Subversions currently takes place at Brooklyn club Verboten and focuses on creating a seamless mix of visuals and live programming. Fittingly, Bulgarian live PA don KiNK will join Matthew Dear. Local duo Plastic Love have been tapped for support. Check out the video for the Black Asteroid and Cold Cave collaboration "Black Moon" below.
Tickets to Prototype 001 and Prototype 002 are available on RA.
