- The Oslo label will release remastered versions of Nedi Myra and Trøbbel in January.
Bjørn Torske's Nedi Myra and Trøbbel will be reissued by Smalltown Supersound on January 26th.
Often mentioned as a crucial influence on the Norwegian "space disco" scene, Torske began working with Smalltown in the mid-2000s, going on to release his Feil Knapp and Koknig albums via the imprint. Underlining the Tromsø native's impact, the label offers a quote on Torske's debut from Norway's man of the moment Todd Terje: "Nedi Myra was one of the first house albums I bought, or at least that´s what I THOUGHT it was." Terje goes on, "Weird futuro-bossa and foggy disco-not-really-disco was more like it."
Torske himself lists DJ Harvey, Idjut Boys and Ron Hardy as formatives for his dub-inflected sound. Nedi Myra was originally released by Ferox in 1998, and Trøbbel via Telle Records in 2001. The out-of-print LPs have been remastered by Dubplates and Mastering and given approval by the hermetic producer.
