  • Kompakt will release Wolfgang Voigt's Protest - Versammlung 1 via their Profan imprint on February 15th, 2015. Over the course of his career, Voigt's continued to don pseudonyms and forge new avenues for his many musical interests. Originally established in 1993, Profan was meant to give Voigt an "uncensored, liberal publishing platform" to explore idiosyncratic takes on Cologne techno. Since 2009, the label has served as a staging ground for his more avant garde releases, such as July's limited Rückverzauberung 9 CD. A subsidiary of Profan itself, Voigt's has had twelve limited vinyl EPs on Protest to date. Kompakt provides an overview of Protest's ethos and by extension, the forthcoming compilation: "(Protest is) where the expressionist pop techno 12-inch single á la Voigt has found sort of a second home, heavily informed by his paradigm of sex, drugs and pop art." The collection gathers remastered versions of Protest highlights spanning back to 2010 as well as two exclusive cuts. In keeping with his typically prolific pace, yesterday also saw the release of SUPER, Wolfgang's latest collaboration with his brother as Voigt & Voigt. Tracklist 01. Robert Schumann 02.
