  • Dark Entries has announced details of its next record: a remix EP for Psychic TV's acid house tune "Alien Be-In." Genesis P-Orridge and Peter Christopherson formed Psychic TV after the breakup of Throbbing Gristle. Together with a rotating cast of other musicians, they put out a stream of experimental records throughout the '80s and '90s. "Alien Be-In" dates from the outfit's acid house phase—after Christopherson had left the group. Produced by P-Orridge and Fred Giannelli, it first appeared on the 1990 LP Towards Thee Infinite Beat on P-Orridge's Temple Records. The San Francisco label will reissue the original version with three remixes. One comes from Giannelli, who, according to Dark Entries, "takes a stab at remixing the mono mix of the original sequence sourced from the Emax floppy discs." The record's B-side contains a remix from Silent Servant, real name Juan Mendez, who has a well-documented love for '80s industrial music. The other remix comes from Mendez in collaboration with John Tejada. Each copy of Alien Be-In includes a 11x11 square insert with photo of Psychic TV from 1988 and liner notes written by Giannelli.
