  • Melé is starting his own label, called Quadrants, on November 10th. The Liverpool-raised artist, AKA Krissy Peers, made a name for himself around 2010 with a string of releases for Mixpak, Grizzly and Toddla T's Girls Music. Those EPs revealed an adventurous sound that cut across UK funky, bass music and house, and now comes Quadrants, with the goal of becoming a home for open-minded music. "I steer away from the genre box and therefore my sound can chop and change, so over the last few years I've struggled to find a label where my music fits perfectly," Peers says. The first release, a two-tracker featuring "The Ritzy" and "Learn 2 Love," comes from Melé himself, with "mysterious production duo" Callahan as well as Mak & Pasteman billed for future EPs. You can stream both sides of the first Quadrant release below.
