  • Boa / Cold, a collaborative 12-inch from The Bug and Earth, is set for December release via Ninja Tune. Though the two artists work in rather different musical realms, there's a similarity to their approaches that makes them a good fit. The Bug, AKA Kevin Martin, crafts a dark, subterranean rumble from the signifiers of dub. (You can read more about him in Ryan Keeling's feature from last month.) Earth, the American project spearheaded by Dylan Carlson, distills metal down to a drone. According to Ninja Tune, Earth had originally been earmarked as a collaborator on Martin's recent RA-Recommended album Angels & Devils, but given the expansive nature of the music, the hook-up made more sense on its own release. (Head over to The Guardian to hear a stream of the A-side, "Boa.") The record is slated for December 1st release, though those in the US can pick it up on November 28th to coincide with the start of the holiday shopping season in America. Tracklist 01. Boa 02. Cold Ninja Tune will release Boa / Cold on December 1st, 2014.
