Reel Torque has released its latest instalment, a set of mixes from the Diagonal Records crew.
Diagonal is the experimentally-inclined UK label run by Powell, responsible for rough-edged electronic music from the likes of Shit And Shine, Prostitutes and Russell Haswell. The Diagonal Rave Tapes comprises recordings taken from London venue Corsica Studio's second Leitmotif night, where the imprint was given the reins to one of the rooms. The five-cassette package offers mixes from Powell and Haswell (the latter recorded via the room and not the soundboard), San Francisco's Vereker and EVOL, plus a DJ set by Joe from Raime. Running the gamut from grime to EBM, garage to ultra-fast techno, it's set to be quite a diverse collection, and follows previous Reel Torque instalments from Hieroglyphic Being, Delroy Edwards and Slackk.
