  • Sankeys will launch a new Brooklyn location this month, with an opening party scheduled for Halloween. The global nightlife institution—with locations in Manchester, Ibiza and a pop-up in London—will open Brooklyn's newest club, following Output and Verboten. The announcement comes two months after the closing of their unsuccessful Manhattan location, which launched on Halloween of last year. Owner David Vincent explains the difficulties they encountered in their move to New York: "As franchisors we were inexperienced and [naive] in our approach to the difficulties we encountered," he says, citing problems with the club's location and layout. "We always felt the area and aesthetics of the venue were not quite right for us but we went with it... Now for the first time [we're] taking direct control of all aspects of the venue in Brooklyn, [and] leaving nothing to chance! Sankeys is a basement-style club and needs an intimate low ceiling venue to create our magic. Our new venue in Brooklyn is sure to create this." They'll kick off on October 31st with a Tribal Sessions party featuring Greg Vickers, Jozef K and Jkriv. The following night they'll host VIVa Warriors, with Steve Lawler locked in for a five-hour set. Tickets to the VIVa Warriors party are available here on RA.
