  • Chicago house producer and DJ Specter will make his NYC debut alongside Sequencias boss JM De Frias for Down By Low at Bossa Nova Civic Club on October 17th. Specter, real name Andres Ordonez, has been spinning records for more than 20 years. His debut EP dropped on Tetrode in 2001. Despite this veteran status, this will be his first gig in the city. Ordonez has also released material on Sound Signature, Sistrum and De Frias's Sequencias, appearing alongside Aroy Dee and Hieroglyphic Being on the label's first release. De Frias started Sequencias a few years ago, and has gone on to work with Healing Force Project, Willie Burns, Shawn O'Sullivan and many others. Down By Low is operated by New York DJs Masahiro Ueda and Drome Grunge, who also serve as the party's residents. The latter runs Pacific Psychedelia Tapes.
