  • Infiné Music is set to release Solarispellis, the second album from enigmatic producer Arandel, on November 24th. The LP, which moves through leftfield techno, krautrock, and chiptune, was recorded live with "no MIDI, no digital takes or quantizing," the label says—just analogue hardware. It follows his highly conceptual debut album, In D, which was inspired by modern classical music and 20th century minimalism, and recorded using techniques borrowed from avant-garde filmmaking. Solarispellis, which takes cues from Brian Eno, Oneohtrix Point Never and "prog-infused 70s synth epics," was recorded as a score for an imaginary film, making use of "musical themes, repetitions and variations, large orchestrations and successions of moods" to create the effect. The label has also shared the first album cut, "Section 11," which you can stream below.
