  • Dasha Rush will make a rare visit to North America this month, headlining parties in Vancouver and Detroit. A Russian-born artist based in Berlin, Rush favors dark, deep and abstract approaches to techno. She runs the labels Fullpanda and Hunger To Create, through which most of her music has been released, and she's also produced for Sonic Groove and Deep Sound Channel in recent years. As a DJ and live act, she's kept quite busy on the touring front lately, with bookings at tuned-in techno and experimental festivals like Japan's Labyrinth, TodaysArt in The Hague and Berlin Atonal, among many other gigs. Rush has only played a few shows in North America, and there's just two on the schedule for now. Each will be a DJ set marking her local debut. First up is a Subversive party in Vancouver on Friday the 17th, with local duo The Automatic Message and resident Nancy Dru taking care of support. The next night has Rush hitting The Works in Detroit for Blank Code's next Scene party, where residents Project 313 lead the local side of the lineup. A couple more North American bookings are in the works for Rush in early 2015, though details for those are still TBA. For now, you can learn more about her from our interview from early last year, and tuning in to this live set, recorded at Crossover Festival in Nice back in June, wouldn't be a bad idea either.
