- All profits from the wide-ranging footwork compilation, set for release next month, will go to the late DJ Rashad's son Chad.
Next Life, a new footwork compilation from Hyperdub and the Teklife crew, is set for release in November.
It features 20 tracks spanning footwork originators like RP Boo, DJ Spinn and the late DJ Rashad; second-wave artists like Taso and DJ Earl; and adherents of the style from well beyond Chicago, like Durban and DJ Paypal. The material is all new and unreleased, and the compilation is meant as a tribute to Rashad, who loomed large over the scene. All of the profits from Next Life will be donated to Chad, Rashad's son. The release will be available on CD and as a digital download, with the latter coming packed with bonus cuts.
