- The UK label will drop its first full-length in October.
Chicago Jim is behind the first album on Lobster Theremin.
Also known as Space Jim, the relatively fresh-faced producer is a former resident of Vancouver, where he built up quite a collection of vintage gear while studying forestry. He eventually moved to Chicago, where he released 2012's self-titled cassette, the contents of which will be pressed onto vinyl for the first time as the eighth Lobster Theremin release. Written and recorded on a variety of Roland equipment plus a Juno 106, MPC 2000 and a Microkorg, the label compares the album to Larry Heard's classic Alien album, referencing "the ability of early house pioneers... to enrapture and engage."
