Denovali Swingfest reveals 2014 Essen lineup

- The next Essen edition of Denovali Swingfest will take place from October 2nd through 5th at Weststadthalle. Denovali Swingfest started as an offshoot of Essen label Denovali Records. Since its first showing in 2007, the festival has journeyed to Berlin and London, hosting a variety of experimental acts at venues like Village Underground, Café Oto and Radialsystem V. Unlike most festivals, organisers are believers in the "renunciation of the headliner principle"—all artists are treated equally and are given identical set lengths. Ben Frost and James Holden are among the names locked in for the upcoming Essen event. They'll be joined on the lineup by Oval, Demdike Stare, The Haxan Cloak, plus around 20 other names spread out over four days.
