- The English producer returns to his own Phoenix G label this November for his latest full-length.
Mr. G's latest album is called Personal Momentz.
The LP, Colin McBean's third, is set for November release. And from a label perspective, the title is apt: where his last two albums have been put out by Rekids, Personal Momentz will see release via his own Phoenix G imprint. (It's also the first album to appear on Phoenix G.)
But the significance of the title goes deeper. McBean writes that the album "wrote itself over ten days" during his first session back in the studio following the death of his father. "As ever with me the music never lies and, through it, you'll see the twists and turns I take—outpouring inner vibez and hoping to get to a new destination... what/wherever that may be." As McBean mentioned in Machine Love last year, his last album, State Of Flux, was a similarly personal work written following the death of a friend.
