Actress and Blondes get their Day In The Desert

- The third edition of the intimate Californian festival will take place in October.
- A Day In The Desert will take place in Pioneertown, outside Joshua Tree National Park, on October 11th. Actress will headline the event, which programs music according to the setting's dramatic shift from day into night. New York duo Blondes, Chrome Canyon and S U R V I V E will throw down analog-synth heavy live sets, but the festival also presents listeners with a number of sonic left turns. Portland trio The Body will up the volume considerably, and there appears to be a one-off opening group gathered specifically for the fest—This Is Music Desert Drones & Dub. The outdoor event will run all day on Saturday, October 11th, with a pre-party to take place in a yurt the night before. Cosmic Ron (of Cosmic Kids) and Greg Bowler (of Acid Girls) are on DJ duty for the Friday party, while Lovefingers, Heidi and SONNS will spin out into the desert night on Saturday. Tickets are limited to 200 and include food and drink, yoga and "other surprises." Guests are encouraged to bring their own provisions.
