  • The programme for Amsterdam Dance Event's Playground has been announced. Playground is the part of ADE's official non-party programme. From October 15th to the 19th, dozens of events will be held a cross a variety of Amsterdam locations, encompassing tech viewings, film screenings, talks, pop-up stores and exhibitions. On Wednesday the 15th there will be an exhibition called Uncovered: The Art Of The Album Cover opening at Mini Galerie, a demo of the cutting-edge 4DSOUND system at Compagnietheater, plus a set from Weval and Patrice Bäumel at Kompakt's pop-up store. Ableton will take over Compagnietheate on Thursday the 16th, running workshops on Live 9 and a TBA schedule of artist talks and performances. The same days sees Native Instruments heading to De Brakke Grond to host talks, panels and demonstrations, including an interview with Boy George at 4 PM. A talk from renowned composer Hans Zimmer serves as one of the week's highlights, taking place at De Brakke Grond on Saturday, October 18th, at 4 PM. Throughout that afternoon, there will be more tech demonstrations courtesy of Native Instruments and Focusrite Novation. A workshop on "painting with sound" is due to run at Van Gogh Museum, while Vladislav Delay handles the 4DSOUND system masterclass. The schedule for Sunday, October 19th, includes a food market at art’otel amsterdam called Brunch And Boogie, and a final 4DSOUND talk and presentation. Melweg Cinema will run for most of the festival. Each afternoon and evening, from Wednesday through Saturday, a variety of music-related films will be screened. These range from documentaries on UK garage, We Are Modeselektor, I Dream Of Wires and RA films from the Sessions and ORIGINS vaults. For the full Playground programme, head to ADE's official site.
