  • The next Aphotic Segment event in Detroit, happening on Sunday, September 7th, will feature a set from FIT. A monthly series with a wide-open music policy curated by the We Are All Machines label, Aphotic Segment first began in 2010. After a nearly two-year break, it relaunched earlier this year, and the Corktown spot Nancy Whiskey is its current home. Todd Osborn, BMG and Karl Meier have appeared recently, and atop the lineup for this Sunday's soirée is Aaron "FIT" Siegel. The hard-working Detroit DJ and producer might be best known for his connection with Omar-S (and his label, FXHE), but he has his own pursuits as well. He operates the FIT Sound label, through which he put out a solo record, Cocomo / Seedbed earlier in 2014, and which has highlighted other local talent both old and new, like Marcellus Pittman and MGUN, and the similarly clued-in FIT Distribution service. Supporting FIT are Aphotic Segment residents Soren and Drew Pompa (who's a part of the We Are All Machines crew). As usual, admission is free, and the event will run from 10 PM to 2 AM.
