  • Nik Mercer and Jacques Renault have announced a new label called Room Service, which will launch with a 12-inch from Quell in November. The founding duo comprises two-thirds of the original Let's Play House team, a label that grew out of the roving party of the same name. Room Service is the second Let's Play House sublabel—last year Mercer and Renault started a vinyl-only offshoot called started Goodnight Moon. Renault also runs On The Prowl and OTP Party Breaks with his partner in Runaway, Marcus Cabral. Room Service aims to stray from Let's Play House's established path. The label's first release is The Middle Class EP from Quell, a Greek producer living in Berlin who has worked closely with Jerome Sydenham's Ibadan Records. Room Service has further plans to release music from Renault in the near future. Nik Mercer spoke on the label's name, which is partially inspired by the hotel-to-hotel lifestyle of the traveling DJ: "Room service is a luxury lots of DJs enjoy. It's also a sort of lonely opulence; you have food delivered to you while you're on the road and by yourself." Tracklist 01. Le Sapeur 02. M.O.G.A.N.Z. 03. Spinning In Your Wheels 04. Machete Room Service will release The Middle Class EP in November 2014.
