The Knife announce final tour, call it quits

- A run of European dates in October and November will be the Swedish act's last.
- The Knife have announced their last-ever live tour, adding that they plan to disband once the current run of dates is up. The run of six shows will bring an end to their Shaking The Habitual world tour, which has seen Karin and Olof Dreijer joined on stage by a troupe of performers. Though their official statement is vague, RA has confirmed that the Swedish duo plan to quit live performance as The Knife once these dates have been played. In addition to two dates on home soil—in Stockholm and Gothenburg—they will perform in Berlin, Manchester and London, before finishing off at Iceland Airwaves Festival in Reykjavík. The duo posted this message on their website: "We are doing our last tour! In the autumn we will round up the Shaking The Habitual Show Tour with a number of European dates. After the touring last year we reworked the show during the winter. The performers, previously known as dancers, learnt how to sing and play instruments, the stage got three levels, Shannon Funchess joined us and the show became more fun and shiny. We performed it in the US in the spring and now we would love you to join us in our dance for some last shaking moves." Update: In an interview with Dazed, Karin Dreijer said the end of the tour would mark the end of The Knife. "When we finish the tour now in November we will close down, it’s our last tour," she says. "We don’t have any obligations to continue, it should only and always be for fun." You can read the full interview here.
