The LA record store has scheduled events featuring Function, Shifted and more.
HIghland Park vinyl boutique Mount Analog has announced three shows to take place the week of September 20th.
Each of the gatherings veers towards the darker, noisier side of techno. On September 20th, they'll present a Bed Of Nails and Avian showcase as the ninth instalment of their Nuit Noire series. The booking illuminates the converging vision of Shifted and Dominick Fernow's respective labels. The former will DJ while the latter will perform live as Vatican Shadow. Function will headline the event, which also serves as the fourth release party for Games Have Rules, the upcoming full-length collaboration between Function and Fernow.
Dual Action, a New York group that has released music on both of the showcasing imprints, will play live, and Josh Eustis of Telefon Tel Aviv will spin as Sons Of Magdalene. Eustis released his first full-length under the new moniker on Audraglint earlier this summer after leaving the Nine Inch Nails touring band. Alessandro Cortini still does time with Reznor and co., and releases solo material on Fernow's Hospital Productions. He will play live at the party. RSVP is required for location details.
The following Wednesday, the record store will throw an event at Complex celebrating Avian sublabel Mira with a bill full of likeminded US artists. Shifted will perform as Covered In Sand. He's joined by erstwhile Sandwell District affiliate Silent Servant, bracing Cleveland producer Prostitutes and Encapsulate, an act affiliated with the Tempe, AZ collective Ascetic House.
On September 27th, Mount Analog wraps up its busy week with a Modern Love showcase at the historic Hollywood Forever Cemetery headlined by Andy Stott and Demdike Stare. The sprawling grounds hold the remains of Johnny Ramone, Cecil B. DeMille, Jayne Mansfield and hundreds more. This is the first concert of its kind on the grounds, though FKA twigs and Sigur Ros have appeared at Hollywood Forever. Millie & Andrea, the jungle-influenced duo of Stott and Demdike Stare's Miles Whittaker, are slated to DJ at the event's afterparty, which will take place at a separate, undisclosed location requiring RSVP.
Tickets to Nuit Noire IX are available on RA.
