  • Detroit producer and DJ Marcellus Pittman will release a boogie funk single via his label Unirhythm in late September. The Three Chairs member is known for mixing up disco, funk, house and techno in his DJ sets, so the A-side's '80s-inspired groove doesn't come as a complete surprise. Fellow Detroit producer John C. is featured on the flip. He had a hand in the 2012 J. Dilla collection Rebirth Of Detroit, and his contribution to the single, "J.C.'s Groove," bears the influence of the late hip-hop beatmaker. Pittman recently played a six-hour headlining set at Dekmantel festival alongside Kyle Hall, Jay Daniel and Three Chairs members Moodymann, Theo Parrish and Rick Wilhite. RA's Aaron Coultate reviewed the event. Check out clips from the upcoming single below.
