  • Nathan Fake and Wesley Matsell have teamed up for a new label called Cambria Instruments. Both producers are known for their melodic and synth-saturated takes on dance music, releasing mostly on Border Community. Fake is the man behind classics like "The Sky Is Pink," while Matsell one of that UK imprint's lesser-known figures. Cambria Instruments is their own endeavour, inspired by Fake's obsession with the history of Britain (an interest whih also came out in the track titles on 2012's Steam Days). He adds that "[Wesley is] from Wales, and Cambria is an ancient English/Latin name for Wales, so we thought that summed up where the label was coming from.” Fake and Matsell have each contributed one track for the first release, with Fake promising "new esoteric melodies and textures previously unheard from both artists." There's no word on Cambria Instruments' future, except for solo EPs from each founder somewhere down the line. Have a listen to both tracks below.
Tracklist A Nathan Fake - Black Drift B Wesley Matsell - Bismuth Cambria Instruments will release Cambria01 on August 11th, 2014.
