  • Ron Trent will release a record in tribute to fellow Chicago house luminary Frankie Knuckles, who died earlier this year. Knuckles' death marked the loss of one of Chicago house's founding fathers. Ron Trent was one of the DJs influenced by Knuckles' sets at The Warehouse and Power Plant, and 7th Heaven: Tribute To The Energy Of Frankie Knuckles appears to be his way of paying tribute. "I have a career because of Frankie Knuckles," Trent said earlier this year. "I have full gratitude for Frankie and the energy he brought to earth." The limited, one-sided 12-inch sees Trent working under the name RT Sound Factor. You can listen to a clip of the title track below.
