- Wolfgang Voigt dusts off his Roland TB-303 for the Cologne label's (sort of) landmark moment.
Wolfgang Voigt has provided a couple of acid tracks for Kompakt's 303rd release.
"As a label committed to electronic music, you can't just pass up a catalogue number like 303," say the Kompakt crew. Appropriately enough, the imprint is celebrating the milestone with a homage to Roland's TB-303, the humble bass synthesizer that birthed acid house. Instant 303 features two cuts from Voigt, a producer who has long been influenced by the 303—he explored the machine's sound extensively in the '90s under his Mike Ink alias.
The record will be limited to 303 copies, and comes as a bonus with some copies of the Total 14 compilation from Kompakt's webshop.
