Label head Kode9 goes coast-to-coast with support from Scratcha DVA, Ikonika, DJ Spinn, Taso, DJ Earl and Mala.
Hyperdub will celebrate its tenth anniversary with a North American tour in September.
The tour begins in East Troy, NY, on September 9th. Most of the dates include label head Kode9 as well as Scratch DVA. Dj Spinn and Bay-area Teklife affiliate Taso are also along for most of the dates. The tour will feature occasional guest spots from Ikonika, and DJ Earl and Mala are scheduled to play one date each.
First up are Canadian dates in Calgary, Montreal and Hamilton, as well as an appearance by Scratcha DVA and DJ Earl at Vancouver's New Forms festival. (Kode9, DJ Spinn and Taso will play a separate Vancouver date at The Fox.) The artists are also scheduled to appear at clubs across the US, with dates at NYC's Verboten, Seattle's Decibel Festival and the U-Street Music Hall in Washington, DC. They'll also play in Austin, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Raleigh and Oberlin.
This year Kode9's imprint has been releasing compilations to mark its 10th anniversary. Hyperdub 10.1 focused on the label's varied dancefloor side, while Hyperdub 10.2, released this week, homes in on the label's R&B influence.
