- Keysound Recordings will issue the outfit's second album in September.
LV & Josh Idehen will release their second full-length, Islands, through Keysound Recordings.
Islands arrives three years on from their debut album, Routes, which was described by RA's Andrew Ryce as "forward-thinking music that perfectly portrays the bipolar nuances of city living." (In the meantime LV released another LP, Sebenza, in 2012.) On Islands, Idehen's vocals are brought to the fore, with lyrics exploring "murder, desperate loneliness, obsessions and sexually-unfulfilling nights out."
"More so than on Routes, Josh is creating little worlds and telling stories with this project," says Will LV. "We tried to write music around him, with highs and lows; trying to make it coherent… but not too coherent."
Idehen adds: "Everything that was coming up through Islands does relate to a part of me. That feeling of being an outsider, being isolated and this kind of lonely story teller. And not in a kind of 'I'm cool, I'm different,' but just an outcast, always on the outside looking in."
Islands will arrive via Dusk and Blackdown's Keysound Recordings on CD, vinyl and digital formats. You can listen to lead single "Imminent" below:
