  • Daniel Lopatin's Software label will release Suicideyear's Remembrance album on September 24th. Though Lopatin's Oneohtrix Point Never project keeps him busy, he remains connected to the scene of experimental producers who rely primarily on Bandcamp and SoundCloud for distribution. Lopatin became enamored with Suicideyear's (real name James Prudhomme) online-only Japan mixtape, which combined the repetitive organ figures favored by Terry Riley and Charlemagne Palestine with the syncopated percussion employed by Atlanta rap producers Lex Luger and Mike Will Made It. Prudhomme says he crafted Remembrance around the themes of love and loss in his native Deep South. The album's first single, "Hope Building A," is streaming in full below.
