  • Los Angeles labels Not Not Fun and Deathbomb Arc will combine forces for an event on Thursday, July 17th. The showcase will be held at downtown DIY venue The Handbag Factory and runs the gamut from neo-trip-hop to bracing avant-rap. clipping., a trio whose feedback-laden combination of noise and hip-hop caught the ear of venerable Seattle indie Sub Pop, will perform alongside Robedoor, the ongoing project of Not Not Fun co-founder Britt Brown. Deathbomb Arc affiliated acts tik///tik and True Neutral Crew also appear on the bill, as well as the Filthy Huns, who released a krautrock-informed cassette on NNF. Afterhours, a producer with a penchant for the loping breakbeats and moody atmospherics of James Lavelle's Mo' Wax, will DJ between live acts. Not Not Fun celebrated their tenth anniversary with performances from Heatsick, Bronze and more at nascent LA gallery Private Island in February. Deathbomb Arc has mined the LA underground since 1999 and released clipping.'s debut. The event begins at 8 PM.
