  • DAT (Digital and Analog Technologies) Music Conference, a new festival in Missoula, Montana, will take place for the first time from August 1st through 3rd. Citing Boulder's Communikey and Seattle's Decibel as inspirations, DAT organizers state that the festival aims to attract talent to the region while showcasing Missoula's established scene. To that end, DAT's first iteration will feature John Tejada, Lusine, Natasha Kmeto and Decibel founder Sean Horton AKA Nordic Soul, alongside locals Kris Moon and Mike Stolin. The weekend-long event will repurpose a number of Missoula venues, featuring workshops and a discussion panel in addition to live performances and DJ sets. Taking a cue from Montreal's MUTEK, which offers some free daytime showcases, film screenings and forums, DAT's Sunday programming also includes a free outdoor event.
