  • King Britt will perform a sci-fi set as Fhloston Paradigm for François K.'s next Deep Space party. The Hyperdub signee has appeared a number of times at Deep Space, but on Monday, July 7th, he'll share his "live sci-fi set" as Fhloston Paradigm for the first time at Cielo. He says the set will be "part live, part DJ," and he'll be joined by Marlo Reynolds and singer Pia Ercole. The performance will coincide with the release of his LP, The Phoenix, on Hyperdub. Speaking to RA back in April, King Britt said the record was inspired by classic sci-fi films like Fifth Element, The Man Who Fell To Earth and Blade Runner. While finishing his new LP, Britt has also been active in contemporary art, curating a day-long MoMA event in April that was dedicated to Afrofuturist music and dance. Featured artists included Shabazz Palaces, Ras G and Public Enemy founder Hank Shocklee.
