  • Tricky's next album drops on September 8th. Adrian Thaws, which is also the English artist's given name, is the second LP to be jointly released by his False Idols imprint and !K7. His self-proclaimed "club/hip-hop album," it's a collaboration-heavy record that features vocalists Mykki Blanco, Tirzah, Bella Gotti and past partners Francesca Belmonte and Nneka (as well as a co-production from Blue Daisy.) Thaws is well-known for his pioneering work in trip-hop in the mid-'90s, both as a key member of Massive Attack and as a solo artist, including his classic 1995 LP Maxinquaye. "I’ve only heard my music a few times in a club, but I grew up in clubs from when I was 14: blues parties, hip-hop clubs, a few raves," Tricky says. "I'm not known for doing club music, but this album has some club tracks on it—well, what I would consider club music." You can listen to one of the album's cuts, "Nicotine Love," below:
