  • Aphex Twin's long-lost Caustic Window LP test pressing has been sold on eBay. The record caused quite a stir when it was first posted to eBay—it contained what was purported to be an entire lost album under Richard D James' Caustic Window alias, which he had used to release three EPs in the early '90s (later collected on CD under the name Compilation). A Kickstarter campaign was started to purchase the record in order to equally distribute it to all, which quickly went far beyond its initial goal—they ended up raising $67,424 USD. According to FACT they've gone through with the second half of the deal, selling the record on eBay for $46,300 USD and now set to split the profits between James' label Rephlex, Kickstarter participants and a charity (still unspecified). You can view the eBay listing here, and stream the entire thing on YouTube. There are two more Aphex test pressings making the rounds on eBay right now—unplayed copies of Melodies From Mars and Analogue Bubblebath 5.
