  • The 24th annual Chosen Few Old School Reunion Picnic is set to take place in Chicago's Jackson Park on Saturday, July 5th. The picnic—a tradition on the South Side which nowadays draws a crowd of more than 45,000—runs from 6 AM through to 8 PM. Attendees are encouraged to come with tents and food and drink in preparation for a long day of house music. (Grills are allowed, and the event will also have food and drink vendors.) As usual, the Chosen Few DJs—a group of veteran jocks including Jesse Saunders, Terry Hunter and Mike Dunn—will take to the decks. A couple of guests will appear too: Jocelyn Brown, an R&B and dance music vocalist whose career stretches back to the '70s, along with two more DJs, Pharris Thomas and DJ Lil John.
