- The Young Echo affiliates will release a seven-track EP in July.
Jabu have an EP called Kwaidan on the way for UK label Ramp Recordings.
Amos Childs and Alex Rendall are part of the small coterie of Bristol-based artists operating under the Young Echo umbrella. As Jabu they make downtempo, hip-hop-inspired beats, with Childs on production duties and Rendall MCing. (In a Playing Favourites feature with RA last year, Rendall cited 2004's Madvillainy as a particular source of inspiration.)
The duo contributed a track called "Slow Jam" to last year's Young Echo album, Nexus, and they've also put out cassettes on Astro:Dynamics and Bristol label No Corner. Kwaidan, however, marks their first full physical release. It'll land on July 21st on vinyl and digital formats. To get a taste of what to expect, stream "Chamber" below:
