  • Sendai, AKA Peter Van Hoesen and Yves De Mey, are the minds behind the next instalment of the Monad series. Monad is an experimental leg of Berlin label Stroboscopic Artefacts, which invites artists to create abstract club tunes alongside more ambient material in the form digital-only four trackers, with a new set of four every summer. The latest will come from De Mey and Hoesen, who just released their second album, A Smaller Divide. In his review, RA's Paul Clarke said that one "dissects electronic music on an almost molecular level, splitting and recombining hums and crackles into new and unexpected structures," and Monad XVIII continues down that path, offering explorations into minute and minimal sound design with "False Entities," but also more techno-influenced structures with "Directive" and "Martens Deficit." Tracklist 01. Isobaric 3 02. False Entities 03. Directive 04. Martens' Deficit Stroboscopic Artefacts will release Monad XVIII on July 28th, 2014.
