  • Matt Edwards and Thomas Gandey have collaborated on an album called Love Mistakes for Carl Craig's label, Planet E. Edwards, AKA Radio Slave, and Gandey, known for his work as Cagedbaby, originally started Matom as a live project. The aim was to celebrate Berlin's Hansa studios, the famous spot where the likes of David Bowie, Brian Eno, Iggy Pop and Tangerine Dream recorded. Initial sketches were inspired by the music of Iggy Pop, and Bowie's revered Low LP. After a few live shows, including a performance with revered experimental composer Manuel Gottsching, the pair crafted an album. According to a press release, the record "features no samples or MIDI" and makes use of "Fender Rhodes, Moog Voyager, Clavia Nords, Roland Drum Machines, live percussion and guitar from collaborator Paul Sandrone." Love Mistakes was made at Gandey's home near Bordeaux and Edwards's studio in Berlin. Gandey describes the record as "a culmination of our combined skills and reflecting its contrasting environments, a dualism between the cosmic serenity of the vineyards in his south of France retreat and the gritty urban cityscapes of Berlin's bohemia."
