Percussions launches in Adelaide

What sets the Percussions concept apart from what you do with In The Deep End? Are you expecting a different audience? The concept behind Percussions is to build on the last few years of work with In The Deep End and open up what we've been doing to a broader audience. With the possibility of larger spaces and bigger capacities it only seems fair to incorporate other aspects of the city, including the great food and art. Ideally we will have space for visual artists to come and showcase their work or collaborate with us on some immersive installations for the events. How are you going about finding spaces? Finding spaces is the easy part. I wander around the city at least three times a week and find an empty building that would be perfect for what we're doing. Getting approval from the big wigs is the hard bit. Do you see this as satisfying a specific need of the current Adelaide scene? Yeah I think so, we only have two small clubs here (that play good music) that would hold 350 people in total between them. Because there is so little choice in good venues in this city I think people are tiring of the same two venues. Adding some pop-up ventures to the equation should really help keep people's minds open and actually support the bricks and mortar clubs in the long term.
