  • Ecstatic has a new sister label called Entropy Trax launching later this month. Entropy Trax is said to focus on "experimental dance floor sounds," as opposed to Ecstatic, which has mostly kept to Walls and their side projects. The first release will come from DFA renaissance man Gavin Russom, recording under his own name for the first time since 2011's Night Sky EP (otherwise he records under Black Meteoric Star and as a part of Crystal Ark, among a handful of other groups.) The release comprises two "visceral and hypnotic dance floor tracks." Russom describes A-side, "The Purge," as "a meditation on the transformative power of illness," while its flip, "Enthroned," is inspired by David Brown's book Santeria Enthroned and its images of "empowered femininity." Tracklist A The Purge B Enthroned Entropy Trax will release The Purge / Enthroned on June 23rd, 2014.
