Derrick May's first release as Mayday, The Darkside, is being reissued.
Originally released on KMS offshoot Pheerce Citi in 1987, The Darkside is one of May's lesser-known works. It was produced with the more well-known KMS in mind, but ultimately found its way onto a small run of wax for Pheerce Citi. For the past few years it's been a collector's item and tough to find on vinyl. For the reissue, the original audio has remastered and pressed to 45 RPM vinyl. A special edition for Record Store Day earlier this year was pressed exclusively for London store Phonica Records, but quickly sold out. A new batch destined for record stores around the world is due to drop next week.
