- Detroit duo The Friend and Shady P will inaugurate the imprint with a two-track EP out in August.
Kris Wadsworth will launch a new record label this summer called Breed.
This will be the Berlin-based DJ and producer's second imprint—he started Uranus in February last year. In a recent post on his Facebook page, Wadsworth outlined his intentions for Breed, saying it will focus "on music by other people I know and love." He later added that the label would "be the exclusive home to my music once Uranus is done."
The debut release is by Detroit duo The Friend and Shady P, showcasing two cuts of tough, low-slung techno. Unlike URANUS, Breed will release both digitally and on 180-gram vinyl. The artwork is by Zeke Clough, who designed the cover for Wadsworth's recent Popularity LP. Decks are currently streaming clips of the EP online.
Tracklist
