- The Parisian label has outlined details of its first LP, due out in June.
Antinote will release an album from D.K. called Drop this June.
Drop is the first full-length to be issued by Antinote. It comes from D.K., who has two previous EPs to his name, both of which came out this year: All Day Everyday for Get The Curse Music, and a split 10-inch with Lumigraph for Odd Frequencies. The record promises to add another musical dimension to the Antinote catalogue, which already spans early '90s techno, tribal-influenced house and Gallic synth-pop, with D.K. exploring his brand of hazy boogie and hip-hop-tinged house across eight tracks.
Operating out of Paris's 11th arrondissement, Antinote was founded by Quentin Vandewalle and Gwen Jamois in 2012. (We profiled the label last year as part of our label of the month series.) Since then they've put out records from Jamois himself (as Iueke) and a tight-knit cluster of Paris-based talent like Albinos, Geena, Syracuse and Nico Motte, who also takes care of the label's visual direction. (Motte and Mathias Pol, AKA Check Morris, designed the sleeve for Drop.)
