  • In Chicago next Saturday, Jerome Derradji's Still Music imprint will host a Detroit-centric event at Smart Bar. The night will highlight the sounds of the Still Music compilation series In The Dark, which focuses on Detroit's underground electronic music scene. (The first compilation came out in 2005; the second dropped last fall.) A squad of Motor City selectors who've appeared on the In The Dark releases will be present—in fact, the lineup is so expansive, Smart Bar will be making the rare move of opening its doors an hour earlier, at 9 PM. Rick Wilhite, Marcellus Pittman, DJ 3000, Gerald Mitchell and Keith Worthy are all confirmed along with Mike Clark, Tony Ollivierria, John Easley, Todd Modes, Raybone Jones and Derradji himself. Tickets to the party are available here on RA.
