- After losing their old site, the Mainwiesen in Hanau, the Sven Väth-fronted open-air has found a new home at the Messepark in Mainz for their July festivities.
The Messepark in Mainz will be the site of this July's Love Family Park.
Last November, we reported that the long-running German open-air was getting shut out of their venue, the Mainwiesen in Hanau, apparently due to objections from the Hessian State ministry for Environment and Energy. Whether this new location is the "plan B" the festival organizers had hinted at having up their sleeves is unclear; regardless, the festival—perennially headlined by Sven Väth—will go on.
"New park, same vibe" is how Love Family Park is describing its new location: "Expect deep green meadows, refreshing water-curtains, vast awnings and many, many more stuff to create a beautiful Park that fits our Love Family." They also emphasize the new location's centrality, which should make travel there quite easy.
The day-long festival is set for July 6th this year. The full lineup has yet to be revealed.
